The Evil Machine that is FAUX strikes again!

I love that image...lol.
Here we go again. Seriously i will be immensely pissed if they really go through with this nonsense!

Warner Bros. and 20th Century FOX are going to court over who owns the rights to the property.
his from The Hollywood Reporter...
Warner Bros. is scheduled to release Zack Snyder's big-screen adaptation of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comics series on March 6, but a federal judge in Los Angeles complicated that plan Wednesday when he refused to dismiss a lawsuit filed by 20th Century Fox against Warners over rights to the property.

Judge Gary Allen Fees ruled that Fox has established enough evidence to support its claims that it holds the distribution rights to the film version of the 1980s graphic novel about damaged superheroes.

Asserting what it calls its "long-standing motion picture rights" to "Watchmen," Fox said Monday that it will ask the court to "enjoin the release of the Warner Brothers film and any related 'Watchmen' media that violate our copyright interests in that property."

Warners has high hopes for "Watchmen," a potential franchise film that has a reported $120 million budget. The studio does not want to mess with success -- it released Snyder's previous big-screen effort, "300," in March 2006, and that action movie went on to gross more than $450 million worldwide.

Warners counters that Fox has no rights to the project.

"The court's ruling simply means that the parties will engage in discovery and proceed with the litigation," it said. "The judge did not opine at all on the merits, other than to conclude that Fox satisfied the pleading requirements."

Fox has sued Warners for copyright infringement and interference with its contract rights under a 1991 agreement between Fox and Largo Entertainment producer Larry Gordon.

Under that deal, Fox "quit claimed" its rights in "Watchmen" to Largo, with the understanding that if the production company proceeded with a big-screen version of the comic, then the movie would be distributed by Fox.

In 1994, Gordon negotiated with Fox "a turnaround notice" that established a buyout formula for the studio if he elected to acquire Fox's rights. But according to Fox, Gordon failed to follow the 1994 agreement.

In 2006, Warners negotiated a quit-claim contract with Gordon, under which it claims to have acquired the rights to "Watchmen."

Fox contends that it has retained its rights to the project because Gordon failed to buy out the studio's rights. It further claims that Warners turned a blind eye to Fox's rights. Warners, however, says under the 1994 agreement, Fox gave away all of its rights, including those to distribute.

Judge Fees disagreed, finding that Warners' motion to dismiss ignored several facts, including that the turnaround notice separately dealt with "Watchmen" and that there is nothing in the court record that shows Gordon has an interest in the project.

And of course the fans aren't having any of this crap!

20th Century Fox's legal dispute with Warner Bros. over the rights to Watchmen has sparked a war mentality among fans. Some have already started threatening to boycott X-Men Origins: Wolverine if the litigation is pursued.
This from ScreenRant.com's Vic Holtreman...

I solemnly swear: if Watchmen ends up on the list of great movies that almost made it, I will be leading the charge to make Fox PAY. I will slam every one of the crap movies and TV shows they put out, and use every bit of my blogger-power (it’s about 3/4 as potent as flower-power) to downright brainwash every suggestible reader into boycotting any movie released by 20th Century Fox until Watchmen sees the light of day. (Sorry Wolvy, you’ll be my first victim. Just to let these stuffed-suits know I ain’t playing!) Fox will come to learn the TRUE meaning of the word “backfire,” and I think I speak for a great many Watchmen fans when I say that."

    By the way

Here is the second Punisher War Zone trailer.

    Saturday, August 2, 2008

    It needs no Introduction

every fanboy worth his/her salt has already seen this but i will go ahead and post anyways because its what i do:)

The attention to detail is quite remarkable. Night Owl's ship, Spectre's outfit..i mean....its looking to be a great movie...too bad it doesn't come out until next year. My only worry is this doesn't become another "slow motion" movie a la "300"...not that i minded the half naked men at all. I just want some real life crap beating and not some sensationalized steez.

Dark Knight was everything i hoped it would be. Heath Ledger lived up to the hype. I mean.....the joker was effing sick in that movie. And in just 20 days, it has made over $400 million at the box office. You gotta give props.

There should totally be a movie titled "Being Alan Moore"....i mean...who wouldn't want to take a voyage through his inner workings? I know i would!
    Later.

    Hello my lil melting Pot..

Sorry ive been incognito.....i like to tell my self i have faithful fans of this blog..hehehe....but...u know what they say..never say never. While i have been away...i happened to catch Iron Man(3 times!), saw The Incredible Hulk which did not disappoint and also...."Wanted"...which was almost comical..in a good way. I figure since its the holiday and i have no plans until later on today..might as well update with some goody gum drops!!
One of my first entries in this blog was bout the impending Watchmen movie.....i know all die hard Watchmen fans cant wait for this movie and i know...more than likely you have all seen the official pictures of the Characters in the movie and i must say...its looking pretty good so far. Pictures are one thing but will the movie be up to par? I don't know and for right now..i choose not to dwell on that. Lets focus on the hotness that is the "Minute Men".:D

Jefferey Dean Morgan as The Comedian

    Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl

    Matthew Goode as Ozymandias

    Jackie Earle Haley as Rorscach

    Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre

So there you have it...The Minute Men.

Another follow up.....here is a teaser Trailer for Punisher:War Zone. I dunno....some ppl felt like the one with Thomas Jane wasn't up to par but in my opinion...the only thing sucky bout that movie was John Travolta!! The original with Dolph Lungren still holds a place in my heart tho...always. Peep the vid.

Well..i will try to update as often as i can....Life gets in the way sometimes:)

    Trailers

I cant remember when exactly i saw the trailer for "The Strangers" but i remember i was scared shitless afterwards. The movie stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. It is almost like "Vacancy" which is also another awesome movie but this is way scarier. Somn bout masked psychopaths chasing you with an axe...its enuff to scare anybody.

Anyways the Movie comes out on May 30th.Even though i try as much as possible not to watch horror movies cos i know i get scared easily, i think im gonna brave this one.:)

Another movie im Psyched about is "Deception" Starring Hugh Jackman, Ewan Macgregor and Michelle Williams. Here is a brief Synopsis.
An accounting consultant, while passing from one job to another, meets a charismatic, womanizing lawyer who personifies everything the numbers cruncher wishes he could be. The accountant delves into an erotic world of underground sex clubs.

"That was foreplay, now you are fucked"....i love that line.:)

    Been a long time

Shouldn't have left you...but im back now and i promise......no more flakiness.

So yeah.....The Incredible Hulk trailer is out.Been out for a while actually but i just haven't had the time to update. I'm really loving Edward Norton as Bruce. Or maybe its cos i believe this dude can tackle any role.....Death to Smoochy anyone? He was fantastic in that movie!!
Trailer looks good....im not even gonna front. Doesn't look corny at all which i am thankful for. All in all, i cant wait to see it. Another reason why i am super psyched bout this? Tim Roth is in it. I stan for that dude. Such a brilliant actor!!!
Psst.....there is an Iron Man Cameo in the movie:D

As im sure a lot of you have heard, there is a movie coming out titled Tropic Thunder starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Junior and Brandon T. Jackson.
I honestly don't understand the hoopla surround Robert playing a black guy. Hell if we r gonna start getting sensitive, can we talk bout White Chicks? The trailer looks hilarious and i definitely cant wait to see the movie.
Here is a very brief Synopsis.
A group of self-absorbed actors set out to make the most expensive war film. But after ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.

    Tata!!

    The Watchmen are coming.....

So one of my very good friends recommended Watchmen to me and according to him, the book sorta "changed his life".

Well maybe he hyped it up too much....but when i finally went to the library to pick it up, i was kinda expecting a mind blowing masterpiece. This is not to say Watchmen is not a masterpiece because it is. No doubt it was. But i guess i was expecting more and didn't really focus on the book itself. So i read it again as someone who just happened to stumble on another Alan Moore work. And i was definitely impressed. This is one book i wouldn't mind having in my collection...along with all my copies of several Batman graphic novels(i have a thing for the Dark Knight).
On the watchmen front, there is a watchmen movie coming out and i believe they have already casted some of the major roles if not all. I went over the actors who were playing certain roles and i am very happy that they decided not to use big name stars cos die hard watchmen fans would be very annoyed if the movie was overshadowed by the stars in it.....cast below....
    Cast

Malin Akerman (upcoming The Heartbreak Kid) as Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre

Billy Crudup (The Good Shepherd) as Jon Osterman, aka Dr. Manhattan

Matthew Goode (Match Point) as Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias

Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children) as Walter Kovacs, aka Rorschach

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy) as Edward Blake, aka the Comedian

Patrick Wilson (Little Children) as Dan Dreiberg, aka Nite Owl

Jackie Earle Haley seems to fit the role of Rorschach who is basically an outsider/weirdo....Jackie tends to go for those kind of roles.
But anyways....im excited bout this.....and i know im not the only one.

    First Things first......

Lets talk about the green man....
    alt="" />

yeah...The Incredible Hulk. Colossal piece of whomp the first one turned out to be.....too many things going on at once in that one. Must say Ang Lee directed a heavy weight piece of crap.I my self favor the tighted ones over at DC but there is somn bout them dudes at marvel. Which is why i went to see the movie in the first place and i came out disappointed. Eric Bana was so tortured in that movie i was almost compelled to share my hot dog with him...almost. Who was in charge of casting?Sucky sucky sucky!
Alas....there may be hope for the Green One.My future baby daddy has been cast in the lead role of Eric Bana...yeah.....the one and only Edward Norton. If anybody can save this wanna be franchise, it has to be him. I mean...its Edward Freaking Norton....lets keep our fingers crossed.....y'all remember Spiderman's incessant tears in that last movie? Yeah...we hope for the best.
    Exclusive pics from Marvel.com below.

    So....

this blog was created to shamelessly indulge my comic book/geek habits. If you are faint hearted pls do not attempt to read this blog.....cos i hold nothing back.
