So one of my very good friends recommended Watchmen to me and according to him, the book sorta "changed his life".
Well maybe he hyped it up too much....but when i finally went to the library to pick it up, i was kinda expecting a mind blowing masterpiece. This is not to say Watchmen is not a masterpiece because it is. No doubt it was. But i guess i was expecting more and didn't really focus on the book itself. So i read it again as someone who just happened to stumble on another Alan Moore work. And i was definitely impressed. This is one book i wouldn't mind having in my collection...along with all my copies of several Batman graphic novels(i have a thing for the Dark Knight).
On the watchmen front, there is a watchmen movie coming out and i believe they have already casted some of the major roles if not all. I went over the actors who were playing certain roles and i am very happy that they decided not to use big name stars cos die hard watchmen fans would be very annoyed if the movie was overshadowed by the stars in it.....cast below....
Cast
Malin Akerman (upcoming The Heartbreak Kid) as Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre
Billy Crudup (The Good Shepherd) as Jon Osterman, aka Dr. Manhattan
Matthew Goode (Match Point) as Adrian Veidt, aka Ozymandias
Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children) as Walter Kovacs, aka Rorschach
Jeffrey Dean Morgan (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy) as Edward Blake, aka the Comedian
Patrick Wilson (Little Children) as Dan Dreiberg, aka Nite Owl
Jackie Earle Haley seems to fit the role of Rorschach who is basically an outsider/weirdo....Jackie tends to go for those kind of roles.
But anyways....im excited bout this.....and i know im not the only one.
